Management Information System (MIS) Head
Job Description:
The MIS Head is responsible for overseeing the organization’s information systems and technology infrastructure to ensure efficient data management, reporting, and decision support. They lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of MIS systems that align with the company’s strategic objectives. The MIS Head acts as liaison between management and IT teams, ensuring technological resources effectively support business operations, including retail store networks. A key focus in managing ERP systems such Odoo, R Pro to optimize enterprise resource planning processes, along with providing comprehensive hardware and software support to ensure smooth organizational operations. Additionally, they should possess strong knowledge of SQL, Crystal Reports, and related reporting tools to facilitate advanced data analysis and report generation.
Key Responsibilities:
· Strategic Planning:
Develop and execute an MIS strategy aligned with organizational goals, including supporting retail store operations. Identify technological opportunities to improve business processes.
· System Management:
Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of MIS systems, databases, and ERP solutions like Odoo, R Pro, ensuring they support both corporate and retail store needs.
· ERP Implementation and Optimization:
Lead the deployment, customization, and continuous improvement of ERP systems to streamline retail store inventory, sales, procurement, and financial processes.
· Retail Store Support:
Provide technical support and solutions tailored for retail store operations, including point- of-sales (POS) systems, inventory management, and sales data reporting.
· Hardware & Software Support:
Manage and support the organization’s hardware infrastructure (computers, servers, networking equipment) and software applications, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.
· Support Group Coordination & Support:
Act as a key member of the support group, coordinating and providing support for hardware, software, ERP, and retail systems. Assist in troubleshooting, issue resolution, and user support to ensure continuous operational efficiency.
· Data Analysis & Reporting:
Utilize SQL. Crystal Reports, and similar tools to develop complex reports, data extracts, and dashboards for management and retail store teams. Ensure data. Accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality.
· Technical Skills & Tools:
Strong proficiency in SQL for database querying and data manipulation. Experience with Crystal Reports or equivalent reporting tools for creating detailed and custom reports.
· Team Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and supervise the MIS team. Provide technical guidance with the support group.
· Budget Management:
Prepare and manage the MIS department budget, including costs related to ERP licenses, hardware procurement, software licenses, and support services.
· Policy & Compliance:
Establish and enforce IT Policies, standards, and procedures to ensure system security, data privacy, and regulatory compliance.
· Vendor & Stakeholder Management:
Collaborate with external vendors, ERP provider, hardware supplier, and retail stakeholders for system procurement, customization, and upgrades.
· User Support & Training:
Provide training and ongoing support to end-users, including store staff and management, for MIS tools, POS systems, hardware devices, and reporting tools.
· Continuous Improvement:
Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry best practices in retail MIS, hardware, software support, and reporting tools to enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
· Educational Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
· Experience:
o 8-12+ years of experience in MIS, IT Management, or related roles.
o Proven experience managing large-scale information systems, including ERP systems such as Odoo, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics.
o Hands-on experience with ERP implementation, customization, and optimization especially in retail environments.
o Extensive hardware and software support experience, including troubleshooting, maintenance, and infrastructure management.
o Strong expertise in SQL for database querying, report generation, and data analysis.
o Proficiency In Crystal Report or similar reporting tools for creating complex, customized reports.
o Experience working within or leading support groups, with a focus on coordinated support efforts.
· Technical Skills:
o Strong knowledge of database management, SQL, BI/reporting tools, and support processes.
o Expertise in ERP modules relevant to retail (inventory, sales, procurement, finance)
o Familiarity with POS systems, retail software integration, and retail specific MIS solutions.
o Knowledge of hardware infrastructure (computers, servers, networking equipment) and software troubleshooting.
o Understanding of network security, cybersecurity, and data privacy regulations.
